Seeing more of Christ

Pray for yourself: Wonderful Father, the God of all hope, take me into more of Christ today.

I come before you in this moment with joyful expectation! I’m convinced you are doing something more in response to my prayers these past twenty days than I could ever imagine! I believe something truly good is coming from you—coming my way!

Fill me today with abounding joy and peace as I trust in your glorious Son, my Savior—so that I may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit throughout all the days ahead!

Your Word teaches me that with Christ, there is always so much more. It says we should rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. It says that Christ in the midst of your people—at work in my life—is the hope of all the glorious things to come.

Father, this is why I ask you to cause me to abound more and more with hope in Christ.

Your Word says we’ve been “born again into a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." Your Word says we should understand the present time and wake up because our salvation is nearer. It says that because the day is almost here, we should put on the armor of light by clothing ourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Father, this is why I ask you to cause me to abound more and more with hope in Christ.

Your Word says we should continue in Christ so that we may be confident when he appears because we will be like him; we will see him as he is. Therefore, we are told that those with this hope in him keep purifying themselves even as he is pure.

Father, this is why I ask you to cause me to abound more and more with hope in Christ.

May your Spirit build in me a growing anticipation of the Consummation so that every day I keep striving to walk with Jesus in a way compatible with and preparatory for all that is yet to come by the cosmic revelation of the saving reign of Jesus.

Your Word says I should rejoice in the Lord always. Why? Because the Lord Jesus is near. That means he is at this very moment coming upon me. He's invading me. He’s ready to break through to me in new ways.

Father, this is what I want. This is what I long for. Bring it to pass.

This much your Word makes clear: With the Lord Jesus Christ, there is always so much more because where sin abounds, through his saving work and redeeming reign, your grace abounds so much more—every time—up to and long after the end of this age.

Therefore, reveal to me how wonder-filled and promise-filled your Son truly is. Keep me always ready to receive and enter into his surprising, unprecedented, inexplicable, and always amazing interventions in my life as well as in my generation.

Take me into a life in Jesus filled each day with fresh anticipations of seeing more of the power and glory of his righteousness and love at any moment.
