Christ’s supremacy over peoples

Pray for yourself: Dear Father, from whom the whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name, take me into more of Christ today.

I know that earth's peoples have become my Savior’s inheritance, according to your Word. In turn, he also has become their ultimate destiny. He holds the final word on the outcome of all humankind. The entire human race will appear at his feet for his final decisions.

Even so, I rejoice at belonging to him and being destined in him. I ask you to guide my journey until I stand before him face-to-face.

No legitimate activity of human existence escapes his claims. Christ points to every square foot of the earth and declares, "That is mine." And the same is true of every one of earth's nations and peoples. He says, in essence, "They are mine."

That is why I am asking you to work by your Spirit in my heart to ensure that every fiber of my being keeps saying all day long, “I am yours!”

Christ's reign engages every human domain: Finance, commerce, entertainment, education, industry, labor, arts, sciences, family, and culture. Christ's reign encompasses all the conditions of the human race: The least—socially, culturally, economically; and above all, the lost—morally and spiritually.

My prayer, therefore, is that by your Spirit, the Lord Jesus may take charge of every domain and every facet of my daily existence in union with him.

Right now, his ministry from the Throne continues to press forward to achieve justice for the oppressed and deliverance for the poor. Just as he was in the day of his flesh, he continues today to be concerned for all those without God and without hope—physically, socially, economically, and above all, spiritually.

By your Spirit, place in me a heart of compassion so that I am just like Jesus in his sacrificial service as I minister to every person I meet.

Right now, Christ's redeeming reign is becoming increasingly visible among the peoples of the earth as he penetrates the nations with multiplied manifestations of the triumphs of his grace through the gospel’s impact on individuals and peoples and nations. He is bringing forth from all the nations a multitude that cannot be numbered to follow and serve him forever in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit and to the greater glory of his Father.

Even so, by your Spirit, please incorporate me more fully into this grand, expanding, saving mission so that through my life, many others near me and also in other places and among different peoples may enter into the great salvation that awaits them through my Lord Jesus Christ.
