Christ’s supremacy over creation

Pray for yourself: Father, take me into more of Christ today.

First, give me a glimpse into the magnitude and magnificence of your creation. Then, fascinate me with your creative genius extended through my Savior!

Cause me to stand back in awe at all you have done and are continuing to do throughout the material universe. Then, expand my capacity to become even more awestruck with the Savior who made it all. Inspire me to live every day in increasing awe of all he is, in whom is the life that is the light of those made in your image.

By your creative Word, speak into me and fill me with more and more of the riches of Jesus—in the same way that you simply spoke your Word and created everything that exists.

Out of nothing, you brought forth this entire cosmos through your eternal Son by whom all things were created in heaven and earth, visible and invisible. Even so, now create in me a new heart of passion for exalting the glory of and serving the purposes of my ever-living Creator Redeemer.

Speak into me a much bolder faith in Christ so that, like all creation around me, I too may thrive and be productive for your kingdom—trusting you to fulfill your promises to me in him.

As you did in the beginning of the old creation and will do again when you bring forth the new heaven and earth, transform my daily walk so that I may truly flourish for your praises, becoming increasingly fruitful in how I show and share Jesus and the transforming re-creation of his saving grace.

Just as all visible nature declares your glory, may the wonders of who I am—as both created and re-created in the image of God—manifest the glories of the reigning Redeemer who has made it all possible.

Just as your Son upholds the entire universe right now by his powerful Word—holding everything together at this hour by his universal authority—even so by the full force of his supremacy, please uphold and hold together every facet of my daily life in him. Every day when the sun rises anew, may the SON rise anew within my heart.
